A new year is such fresh and exciting feeling. After spending the holidays with friends and family, it’s always nice to look back and be grateful for all that we have.

On a personal level, there were many highs and some lows this year, but even during the hard times I was grateful to be surrounded by the love and support of my amazing friends and family. I was deeply saddened by the recent loss of my beloved Grandmother, Betty Dobson. She lived a long and beautiful life, and her passing brought my extended family and I even closer together. On a happier note, my husband and I celebrated our first anniversary in October! Over the past two years we renovated and moved into a historic row house in Philadelphia. Our little puppy Coda is not so little anymore – he’s now a big 2 year old, but still as rambunctious as ever! We are doing some typical new year activities as well… food cleanses, junk purging, and new workout routines have got us feeling pumped for the year ahead! As a couple of homebodies, we really couldn’t be happier in our cozy new abode.

This past wedding season has been an incredible one! 2014 was such an amazing and transformative year, I wasn’t sure if we could top it! But 2015 was wonderful. Every year we grow, I gain valuable experience behind the camera and I get to met more amazing couples who graciously let me document their lives. My team and I shot 56 weddings, 45 engagement sessions, 20 families, and a host of commercial and editorial shoots! Our weddings this past year took us all over the tri-state area, and as far away as the California coast, and Oaxaca, Mexico! We also returned to some of our favorite venues – PommeJohn James Audubon CenterThe Inn at Barley SheafCira Center, and Front & Palmer… just to name a few! We also explored new venues like Terrain, Ash Mill FarmsHotel Du VillageGlen Foerd on the DelawareDilworth Park and Tyler Arboretum. Of course we worked with our favorite “friendors”: Belovly, Love n’ Fresh FlowersFalls FlowersLeaves of GrassKate Farley DesignA Garden PartyMaggpie VintageLovely BridePeachtree & WardBirchtree Catering, Alisa Tongg and True Beauty Marks. This year we made some new friends too, working alongside the very talented Confetti & Co.Sullivan & OwenOleanderAlexsandra AmbrozyIlonka Floral DesignClara’s Groovy DeliciousnessHeart & Dash, Creative Eventology and Hello, Bird – and so many more!

We were honored to earn recognition and praise for our work from various reputable publications this year! We received the “2016 Wedding Wire Couple’s Choice Award“, the “Best of The Knot 2016“, and Expertise Magazine ranked us amongst the Top 25 Wedding Photographers in Philadelphia! Our work was also heavily featured in the blogosphere, on sites such as Style Me Pretty100 Layer CakeRuffled BlogWedding Chicks, and Green Wedding Shoes. We found ourselves in print on the newsstands as well, in the The Knot Pennsylvania, Flower Magazine and Philadelphia Wedding Magazine!

There have been some changes around here, too. My husband Gregg has taken on a larger role in the company as my business partner & studio manager, working behind the scenes to improve the way we do practically everything. He has also been taking workshops in photography and videography, studying closely with some of the best in the field! So keep your eyes peeled for exciting announcements in 2016!!

We are also happy to announce our new associate photographer! Lauri started her photography business the same time as me, and after becoming a mother to her second child decided to focus on family photography. Recently she approached me to associate shoot, and I am so excited to have Lauri as a part of the team! She is just about the sweetest person you could meet, and a fabulous photographer.

With the help of Wing and Wood Design, we created a new version of our photo booth this year – The Little Picture “Tower”, which is a freestanding, open-air version of our traditional photo booth. We love the sleek and elegant look of the Tower, and the new design has been a hit at weddings.
As I look back on another year, I would like to express my gratitude to all the couples I have come to known over the years for sharing their love story with me, and allowing me to document their lives together. Sharing in these moments brings me immense joy, and I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to photograph so many wonderful people.
