Khai & Justina | Brooklyn Botanical Gardens | Photos by Emily

The cherry blossoms were in full riotous bloom this weekend, perfect timing for Justina & Khai's wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.  I love this description of the cultural significance of the cherry blossom tree from the Huffington post: "The significance of the cherry blossom tree in Japanese culture goes back hundreds of years. In their country, the cherry blossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life. It's a reminder that life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but that it is also tragically short. When the cherry blossom trees bloom for a short time each year in brilliant force, they serve as a visual reminder of how precious and how precarious life is. So, when Japanese people come together to view the cherry blossom trees and marvel at their beauty, they aren't just thinking about the flowers themselves, but also about the larger meaning and deep cultural tradition the cherry blossom tree."  Here is a quick sneak peak from Justina & Khai's gorgeous wedding at the Palm House.

It was such a treat to photograph BHLDN's accessory buyer, Alexa Egeck, for  Career Contessa.  I loved seeing behind the scence at BHLDN's amazing headquarters in the Navy Yard and getting the chance to see all those amazing dresses and accesories in person!  I was also really honored to work for Career Contessa, they are a great organization and such an amazing resources for young business women.

Happy Spring!

Thank goodness it is finally spring!!  I have so many amazing clients this year and I am really looking forward to this wedding season!  Now that the sun is shinning its time to start thinking about your engagement session...The engagement session is a great way to capture the more everyday side of your life. When picking a location, a good place to start is to think of a place or an activity that is important to your relationship. Need some inspiration...walk along the cherry blossoms in Fairmont Park or take in the breathtaking views at Valley Forge. Capture the feel of the city at The Art Museum, Independence Mall, Washington Square Park, Rittenhouse Square, the Race Street Pier, or 30 th St. Station. Share a sundae at Franklin Fountain, or a coffee at One Shot Coffee. For something more funky try the Market Street Love Murals or The Magic Gardens.  Feel free to email me to reserve your session!

Amy & Jeremy | Engagement Session | New York, Ny

Amy & Jeremy picked New York, the city where they first met and fell in love, as the setting for their engagement session.  We had so much fun running around Brooklyn Bridge Park and the High Line in Manhattan - stopping here and there for some perfectly photogenic moments. Amy & Jeremy both work behind the scenes as producers in the entertainment industry, so needless to say they had some locations and ideas mapped out. The spirit of the day really highlighted their unique charm and playful love for one another.  I enjoyed every minute of the session thanks to Amy & Jeremy's sweet and energetic personalities, a quality of theirs that really shines through in these photos.Their wedding took place yesterday at the glamorous Le Meridian hotel in downtown Philadelphia, and it was absolutely breathtaking (photos to follow...)!  As a testament to how accomplished and hip this couple is, their wedding was announced in the New York Times today - Check it out!

Holly & Dave | Wedding | Photos by Emily

From the moment I met Holly & Dave I knew their wedding was going to be a blast!  Stone Rows Farm, in New Jersey was such a great setting for this fun-loving-easy-going couple.  The classic red barns, old farm house, and sprawling fields makes Stone Rows Farm such a great wedding venue!  Holly & Dave's no fuss classic style blended beautifully with the backdrop of the farm, giving the day a feeling of rustic elegance.  Needless to say I had such a great time capturing their day!

Karina & Justin | Destination Wedding | Photos by Emily

Gregg and I are back from our travels in Cartagena, Colombia and I am excited to share the pictures from this gorgeous destination wedding! Karina, a native of Colombia, met Justin while living in Philadelphia.  They have been planning their wedding for years, and they always knew that when they did tie the knot they wanted to share this part of Karina's heritage with all their friends and family.  So they traveled with 100 of their friends and family for a 5 day getaway to South America's Caribbean coast!  I had the pleasure of coming along to capture the trip. The city of  Cartagena is truly a photographer's dream!

Allison & Zack | Engagement Session | Photos by Emily

I had a great time photographing Allison & Zack's engagement session on an unseasonable warm winter day.  We wandered around Philadelphia's cobble stone streets, stopped for coffee at their favorite coffee shop and took in the sunset on Race Street Pier.  I am looking forward to their wedding this coming August.
